Tabiji (旅路) is Japanese for the road of a journey. Not the destination. The early train, the airport coffee, the long drive home. We make the things that are with you for all of it.
Ma
The Japanese idea of Ma (間) is meaningful empty space. It is why our pieces come in four colours and no more, why our shapes are simple, and why we say less than most. Restraint is the point.
North meets East
Tabiji is designed in Northumberland, where the weather is honest and the coast is wide open. Japanese simplicity, made for grey skies and sideways rain. Gear that looks quiet and works hard.
Built for the long road
We choose materials that age well and hardware that lasts. Every piece is made to be carried for years, not seasons, and to look better for the miles.
The seal
The small square mark you will find on our sleeves, hardware and packaging carries the characters 旅路. Traditionally a seal like this is stamped in red. Ours is sky blue, the colour of the morning you set off.
